User Interface and Wireframe Design.
Logo & Colors: We drew inspiration from the colorful hot air balloon because it travels locally and illustrates culture and style. We decided to give Tripinlocal’s iconic look a bright, cheerful appearance.
Fonts: The modern serif display font takes inspiration from modern style and uses easy accessibility to read the text.
Iconography: We used three different style icons based on the services and packages offered.
Themes: The theme of Tripinlocal is to offer rich experiences, culminating in a true journey. We created a platform to show that dream of an exceptional journey.

Do it like a local
Every year, millions of tourists from around the world visit New York City. They frequent major landmarks like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and Times Square, but they are not really enjoying or experiencing the city like a true New Yorker. Tripinlocal’s founders came up with the idea of making visitors’ journeys more interesting and authentic. The idea originated with travel to New York City, but it is ultimately for every major destination in the world.

The founders had a great idea but didn’t know how to make it work. They hired me as a UX/UI team designer (along with a web developer, copywriter, and strategy experts) to help them create their vision.

The Tripinlocal team’s research included studying New York City tourists closely. We interviewed several tourists who came from different cultures and cities, who were visiting the city for the first time. We also hired New Yorkers of different backgrounds, including some celebrities such as famous comedians, singers, fashion bloggers, and actors. Because our aim was to be an elite service, we wanted to introduce regular people to celebrities through this platform to give a more upscale feel . We then converted our research and ideation data into a wireframe and user testing.

After brainstorming many possibilities, we created an unprecedented platform called Tripinlocal. The site that allows travelers to connect with locals in the cities they are visiting.

Steering away from the traditional and typical, Tripinlocal focuses on providing an insider’s view of the city. It gives visitors an opportunity to spend time with a local who’s background and interests align with their own. Tripinlocal will have its grand launch in New York City, with a mission to personally guide visitors through one of the world’s top tourist destinations.

Tripinlocal is made up of NYC residents and/or natives who share their knowledge and insights, showing visitors what the city has to offer through authentic experiences that would otherwise be inaccessible to tourists. These suggested activities span a wide variety of interests, ranging from exclusive dining experiences, shopping with professional stylists, and bicycle rides with breathtaking views. This group of like-minded individuals on the Tripinlocal app is be committed to sharing their passion for their city and letting fresh visitors in on its best offerings.
